Our Mission
Mount Tomber Bee Sanctuary exists to rescue bees, restore pollination networks, and raise a generation that protects pollinators.
We are focusing on rehoming unwanted colonies and preparing habitat in Queensland’s Mistake Mountains — while also building one of Australia’s most imaginative online education platforms for kids, families, and schools.
Our long-term initiative, 1 Billion Bees, aims to match the pollination power of over 10,000 healthy hives through rescue, rewilding, and digital learning that inspires action.
Every hive we save, every story we tell, and every child we reach brings that vision closer.
Our Three Pillars

Pollination Restoration
Rebuilding pollination networks across Queensland's Mistake Mountains through rewilding and habitat expansion.

Bee Rehoming & Colony Donation
Rescuing unwanted colonies and giving them a safe, thriving home where they can flourish and multiply.

Education for Kids & Families
Story-driven learning that inspires the next generation to understand, love, and protect pollinators.
Help Us Reach 1 Billion Bees
Every rescued hive.
Every wildflower planted.
Every child who learns why bees matter — brings us one step closer to restoring Australia’s pollination power.
Your support helps us:
- Rehome unwanted bee colonies into a safe, thriving sanctuary
- Expand wild habitat across Queensland’s Mistake Mountains Range
- Create story-driven education for schools, families, and curious kids everywhere
- Inspire the next generation of pollinator protectors
Whether you’re donating, following our journey, or sharing a bee story — you’re part of something big.
Together, we can build the buzz that brings back a billion bees.
